ChainRoot is a blockchain platform providing traders and developers with essential tools to manage and track networks. I revamped the design system, structured user flows, and designed key features like the Knowledge Base and real-time alerting tools, making blockchain interactions smoother and more accessible.

🔍 Problem

When I joined ChainRoot, the platform was just getting started. We had the very first version of the Explorer and a UI kit based on Primer (GitHub’s design system), but a big question remained:

How do we bring all the essential tools traders and developers need into one place—without making the experience overwhelming? 🤯

The foundation was there, but the experience felt fragmented. 🧩 Features were scattered, and there wasn’t a clear structure guiding users through the platform. The challenge was to connect the dots 🕵️‍♂️, ensuring that every tool had its place and that our users could navigate the platform easily.

🧱 Approach

Instead of rushing into feature design, we started with structure. 🏗 A site map was developed to lay out all the tools in a logical flow, ensuring they felt like part of a cohesive system rather than scattered utilities. Every decision centered around how users would naturally interact with the platform, making usability the foundation of our design approach. 🎯

With that structure in place, we dived into market research and benchmarking. 🔬📊 Platforms like QuickNode, Alchemy, and others were analyzed, identifying where they excelled and—more importantly—where they fell short. 👀 The goal wasn’t just to replicate features but to build something better—a workspace that wasn’t just functional but made blockchain interactions easier and more efficient.⚡

With research backing our decisions, key features started taking shape. ➡️ The alerting system evolved beyond simple notifications, delivering real-time blockchain insights.🔔 A self-serve Knowledge Base was introduced 📚, centralizing all documentation and resources to help users navigate the blockchain ecosystem with confidence. Alongside these, essential tools like the Chain Upgrade Watcher, Rewards Calculator, and Block Counter were built to offer quick, reliable access to critical blockchain data. ⚙️

As ChainRoot grew, the design system and brand identity evolved alongside it. ✨ Color tokens, spacing rules, and UI consistency were refined, making sure every new feature felt like a natural extension of the platform rather than an afterthought. The focus remained on scalability, ensuring the design system could support rapid expansion without compromising clarity or usability. 🌱

😇 Result

As features were developed and refined, ChainRoot transformed from a basic explorer into a fully integrated blockchain workspace—a place where traders and developers could access all the tools they needed in one seamless experience.

In less than six months, ChainRoot went from an early-stage product to a fully functional platform. ⚡
✅ What started with just one network has now expanded to 23 network partnerships—and counting. 🌍
ChainRoot is expanding fast, and I’m excited to see how it continues to grow. 🔝
